Luxury Private Guided Battlefield Tours
Tailored. Immersive. Led by Experience.

Walk the Ground Where History Was Made
Stand where they stood. Feel the silence of a beach that once roared with gunfire, or the quiet of a field that changed the course of a war. There's nothing else quite like it — and no substitute for being there in person, with someone who can bring every detail vividly to life.
Maybe you're tracing a relative's footsteps through their war. Maybe you've always wanted to go deeper into a campaign that's gripped you for years. Or maybe you simply want military history done properly — told by someone who knows it inside out, not read off a laminated sheet. Whatever's brought you here, this is your chance to experience it the way it deserves to be experienced: personal, immersive, and built entirely around you — whether it's just you, a small family group, or a handful of friends who share the same fascination.
I'm Andrew White, a retired RAF Wing Commander with 26 years of service, and every tour I run, I guide myself. No large coachloads, no handing you off to someone else — you get me, my knowledge, and my full attention, start to finish.
I'm proud to work with clients from across the world, including the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, for whom I guide bespoke battlefield tours across the UK. So whether you're travelling solo to retrace a single story, planning a family pilgrimage, or organising a small reunion with people who matter, you're in genuinely experienced hands — and you're about to see history in a way that will stay with you long after you've gone home.

A Luxury Travel Experience, Not Just a Tour
This isn't a coach park and a packed lunch. It's history delivered in style — every bit as rich in comfort as it is in detail.
Our in-house travel consultant, Rachel, works with you personally to craft every part of your journey — from boutique luxury hotels and seamless private transfers, to dining recommendations that feel like a well-kept secret. You'll be fully immersed in the story of the Second World War, the Great War, or the Cold War, all while travelling exactly as you'd want to: in comfort, at your pace, without compromise.
Want a slow, reflective itinerary with space to take it all in? Tracing family ancestry tied to a particular regiment or campaign? Marking a significant anniversary or planning a reunion that needs to feel right? Just tell Rachel what you're picturing — she'll take care of the rest, with accuracy, warmth, and all the comforts you'd hope for along the way.

A name on a war memorial. A photograph tucked in a drawer for decades. A story passed down so many times it's started to feel like legend. If that's what's brought you here, we'll treat it with the care it deserves.
If you're visiting a battlefield or airfield connected to your family, we offer a dedicated research service to dig into the detail behind the story — unit records, operations, locations, service history — so that when you finally stand on that ground, you're not just visiting a place. You're understanding exactly what your relative lived through, and why it mattered.
These moments are deeply personal. Often, they're the ones people remember most. And every single time, they're worth it.
Why Choose This Over a Standard Battlefield Tour?
Because you're not looking for a coach tour with a script. You're looking for context, quality and a connection that lasts. With us, you don’t just visit the past—you understand it.

"I want to thank you for your time, historical knowledge, enthusiasm and patience (I will always be in your debt for driving back to get my phone) for the best "tour" ever. What really makes me emotional is the care you took to include my dad as if he were still there. That is so precious and dear to my heart. I will never forget how you made that so special.
Because of your generosity I would like to send you a small gift to thank you for making my dad alive, young, cheeky, and with a smile on his face as his B-17 is no longer earthbound.
When my friends ask me the best part of my tour, I smile and with teary eyes I always say "My day at Grafton Underwood with Andrew, the best guide ever. My dad was there to walk along by my side." And that is priceless.”
