After 26 years in the Royal Air Force, I now guide people like you across the battlefields of Europe—bringing clarity, context and a touch of gallows humour to the places where history turned. Whether you're a teacher wanting your students to truly understand the past, following a relative’s footsteps, or simply someone with a keen interest and good walking boots, you’re in the right place.

You won’t just hear what happened—you’ll feel it. I combine first-hand military experience with deep historical research to help you see history through informed eyes and leave with stories that stay with you long after the coach pulls away.

On every tour, I lead from the front. For larger groups, I’m joined by trusted colleagues—each a fellow former military officer—who bring their own service, knowledge and lived understanding to the battlefield. No generic scripts, no dry delivery—just proper military minds helping you connect to the past with meaning and depth.

You arranged two absolutely first-rate guides for us in David and Andy. I thought their rapport with the boys and manner of their presentations throughout the trip excellent. I thought the pro-active approach taken by Andy was very good - he engaged with the boys very effectively, established what they knew and didn't know, but did not give them a potted history of WW1 on the spot - which I have perhaps known in the past. Like Heineken, tours with the best of your guides - and these two were that - 'refresh the parts others would not reach’ - so much better for the boys NOT to be hearing from me and a certain 'relatability' to be hearing about military matters from former servicemen, for that matter. I think the boys had a much more effective learning experience.
